One of our favourite rides is back again in 2016. Join us on Sunday 6 November.
One of South Australia’s largest and most recognised events on the cycling calendar; Amy’s Ride SA, is coming around once again. Join over 2000 cyclists and select one of six distance options on the journey from Adelaide to McLaren Vale, including riding along a car free southern expressway! (Exclusively closed for the event).
Amy’s Ride is suitable for all ages, with ride options ranging from 12 to 125 km. The event is fully supported by Bike SA with refreshment stops, lunch provided, multiple road closures and support volunteers and staff assisting along the way.
Amy’s Ride honours the memory of elite South Australian cyclist Amy Gillett who was tragically killed while training in Germany. The ride promotes ongoing discussion of how cyclists fit in as road users, helping to make drivers aware of cyclists and ultimately making cycling safer and reducing cycling fatalities.
Registrations for Amy’s Ride SA open on Friday, August 19. Click here to find out more about Amy’s Ride SA. Have a look at some happy snaps below to get an idea about this great ride.
