Struggling for ideas on where to take the kids? Check out this list of our four favourite trails.

Linear Path (Adelaide)

Alright, you probably already know this one – but the Linear Path is quite possibly the most picturesque rides in Adelaide, and perfect for kids. There are 37 kilometres of sealed trail along the river which goes from Gorge Road in Athelstone to the river mouth at Henley Beach.  You don’t have to do it all at once and it can be a great goal to try several sections over the year!

Port Adelaide Loop Path (Port Adelaide)

This is absolutely perfect for beginners, and this awesome little loop path give you a nice little 3.5 kilometres around Port Adelaide’s inner harbour. If you head there on a Sunday, you can also enjoy a great breakfast at the Hart’s Mill markets!

Shiraz Trail (Coast To Vines) http://www.weekendnotes.com/shiraz-trail-mclaren-vale-willunga/

The Shiraz Trail is an 8km walking and cycling track along an old railway line between McLaren Vale and Willunga. And if you’re up for it, the trail continues another 29km to Marino Rocks as the Coast to Vines Rail Trail. It’s great to do with family and friends, and you can even say goodbye to the car by catching the train to Seaford!

Encounter Bikeway (Victor Harbour To Goolwa)

The encounter bikeway is an awesome family adventure on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Using a combination of shared pathways and back streets, the trail stretches from The Bluff (just out of Victor Harbor) all the way to the Goolwa channell, just near Goolwa. It’s about 30km in total and makes for a very scenic and easy ride.
