With overwhelming response we have almost reached our target of 50 bikes, bringing the three-year total to over 150, to be used in school and other incentive programs.

To date we have delivered skills and safety sessions to over 270 youths, and worked with around 50 adults, both in intergenerational maintenance workshops and facilitating multiple BMX tracks, providing safe riding options for years to come.

And the outcomes for Bikes Palya flow on. With the experiences brought home by our instructors, sharing positive stories of traditional Australian culture and awareness of remote communities with the wider community.

The story reached Macy, an 8 year old school girl. Macy donated her old BMX so that kids in the APY lands “will fix the bikes, build tracks and have fun together”.

She even went further, sharing the program at her school.

“I hope they have as much fun on my bike as I did. I would encourage others to do the same at my school,” said Macy.

Thanks again Macy and all our supportive members! You help us make this wonderful program possible.
