Check out these two bike rides on South Australia’s Copper Coast.
The Copper Coast is a great place to ride in South Australia and it’s one the reasons Bike SA will be finishing its inaugural Wine, Wheels & Whiting event this year in Wallaroo. It’s a gorgeous holiday town which highlights the very essence of the Copper Coast. With our event not taking place until September – we thought we’d collate 2 awesome rides that could be done before or after the event.
Moonta, Kadina, Wallaroo Loop – 60km+
This is a fun little 60km+ loop ride that takes in some gorgeous little spots along the Copper Coast. Check out Kadina, the biggest town on the Yorke Peninsula with its mining heritage and glorious old hotels. It’s also hard not to like the laid back nature of the fishing village of Port Hughes – with a population of 222 – and enjoy its clear blue waters and fantastic long jetty. We might add – it’s probably worth taking a fishing rod with the bike.

The Family Ride – going along the Wallaroo foreshore – 10km loop.
Walaroo is a great place to kick back and relax as a family. It has a deep sea port and is home to the Spencer Gulf prawn fleet, complete with a multi-million dollar marina development Wallaroo has an abundance of attractions. And of course – it’s got a enjoyable ride along the Wallaroo foreshore for the family. The 10km loop is perfect to take the little ones on and a good way to finish off the night is with some fresh seafood or even better – try your luck out Squid fishing along the jetty.

Come ride your bike – Wine Wheels & Whiting – Saturday 12 September.
South Australia is well known for its gorgeous vineyards, great seafood and strong cycling culture. We’ve decided to bring all of this together in the Wine, Wheels & Whiting bike ride – where riders can pedal all the way from the Clare Valley to the Copper Coast – and be entertained by a weekend of festivities put on by the locals.
