The first ever Wine, Wheels and Whiting weekend is shaping up to be a big success – with 300 people expected to ride from Clare Valley to the Copper Coast.
The inaugural Wine, Wheels & Whiting weekend, 11-13 September 2015, offers cyclists of all abilities an opportunity to get on their bike and ride through the scenic Mid North countryside. The ride runs from Clare to the Wallaroo on the Copper Coast and has three starting points to suit the fitness and experience of recreational riders taking part. The event is expected to attract 300 riders (and of course lots of locals) and the ride will showcase the beautiful vistas as the scenery changes from the hills of the Clare Valley to the coast of the Spencer Gulf. The ride itself is on Saturday 12 September – with ride options of 125, 70 & 45km from start venues in Clare, Snowtown and Bute. There is also a great family ride along the North Beach foreshore at Wallaroo.
Registrations for the ride can be made online until Thursday September 10 at www.bikesa.asn.au/winewheelswhiting, or at the start line on Saturday September 12.
There’s also the option to join in a Welcome Dinner at The Bentleys Hotel in Clare from 6.30pm on the Friday night. And don’t forget the three course gourmet dinner featuring Spencer Gulf Seafood and Skillogalee Wines at the Coopers Alehouse in Wallaroo from 6.30 pm on Saturday night.
Bookings for both dinners are essential.
