Another epic weekend of mountain biking complete!! The Dirty Weekend saw nearly 400 cyclists light up the trails in the Cudlee Creek Forest, having a lot of fun and producing some truly mammoth efforts as riders racked up a tally of hundreds of kilometres.

We got lucky with the weather and conditions were perfect for mountain biking. Some light rain prior to the event helped keep the dust down and bed the track in nicely. Thankfully the rain held off during the race, leaving us with a pretty grippy track and making the most of all the trail building efforts that have been part of the preparation for the weekend. (Special thanks to Nick from Destination Trails and volunteers from the Human Projectiles and Bicycle SA) Thankfully the most technical parts of the track, including The Outcrops and sections of exposed roots through the pine forest, were reasonably dry and by the end of the weekend most riders had managed to master the challenges of these natural features.

Live entertainment from four bands kept the things grooving in the event village throughout the late afternoon and evening. Something to chill out to after a few laps. As is the tradition, the Rohan, Tony and Josh had the Forest Fairies disco party raging in the forest, with a light and sound display to help drive riders through the night. This time with some cool new visual displays.

Congratulations to the category winners; results and certificate downloads are available here. Thanks to all who took part and don’t forget to have your say in our survey so you can help us to make the most of the next Dirty Weekend.

Finally, thanks to all of our event sponsor and partners who helped to make this event possible, in particular Forestry SA, Exposure Lights, Squirt Lube and Roof Rack City.
