Running from 14-22 May, this road tour starts and finishes in Port Augusta and showcases some of South Australia’s most rewarding experiences along the way.

  • 9-day cycle tour – approximately 450km, exploring the delights of South Australia’s iconic Flinders Ranges
  • The Flinders Escape is a roady ride, but there are a couple of days when you can get off the bitumen and ride the rough stuff, if you’re that way inclined.
  • NOTE: Bring Your Own tent, sleeping bag/mat for camping or purchase our deluxe camping

  • Marvel at the ancient landscapes of SA’s iconic Flinders Ranges
  • Cycle through the picturesque Pichi Richi Pass or enjoy a relaxing ride on the heritage Pitchi Richi railway
  • Visit the regional towns of Quorn and Hawker
  • Experience the vastness of the Willochra and Morolana Plains
  • Overnight stops in Parachilna and Alpana Station, Blinman
  • Experience Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park and be amazed by the spectacular grandeur of Wilpena Pound

** Optional Deluxe Camping accommodation – includes a spacious 2 person tent that you can stand up in and a self inflating mattress for each person.

Transport Adelaide to Port Augusta then ride to Quorn  44km
Day 2 Sunday 15 May
Quorn to Hawker – 67km
Day 3 Monday 16 May
Hawker to Parachilna – 89km
Day 4 Tuesday 17 May
Parchilna to Blinman (Alpana Station) via Parachilna Gorge – 37km  (off-road ride OR coach transfer)
Day 5 Wednesday 18 May
Blinman to Wilpena Pound – 58km
Day 6 Thursday 19 May
Wilpena Pound Rest Day
Day 7 Friday 20 May
Wilpena Pound to Hawker – 55km
Day 8 Saturday 21 May
Hawker to Quorn – 67km
Day 9 Sunday 22 May
Quorn to Port Augusta via Wilmington/Horrocks Pass – 80km (or 40km option)

An updated printed copy of this guide including any last-minute amendments will be included in the rider Welcome Pack which you will receive on the first day of the tour, along with your Flinders Escape jersey and your rider ID.
