Advanced Bike Maintenance

9am - 4pm Sundays / 3 X 7 hour sessions (total 21 hours)

  • Free workshop manual provided for all Advanced Bike Maintenance participants valued at $40.00 RRP!
  • Register early - maximum 10 participant's - minimum operating numbers 6 people. NOTE: participants must provide their own lunch.
  • The Advanced Bike Maintenance course is specifically suited to riders who can confidently undertake the regular tuning and cleaning tasks required to keep their bike running but are seeking an in depth knowledge of their bikes anatomy allowing them to remove, repair, adjust and replace each of the major mechanical working groups.
  • This detailed course has been prepared for participants who have previous maintenance experience. While this structure is ideal for those participants who have undertaken previous instruction in one of Bike SA's other maintenance courses this is not mandatory. This course is also excellent for fleet mechanics or resource managers who would like to maintain their fleet in-house rather than rely on a local bike shop.
  • The Advanced Bike Maintenance program is structured to include content relevant to both road and MTB enthusiasts and covers workshop specifics for both bike designs.
  • Each of the three 8 hour programming days are separated into 2 intensive 3.5 hour workshop sessions and an hour for lunch plus short morning and afternoon breaks.
  • Each session combines comprehensive group theory instruction and practical demonstrations including tool identification and orientation as well as "exploded" practical examples of all major mechanical working groups.
  • In depth demonstrations are provided covering each individual component's removal, repair, maintenance requirements and reassembly, replacement procedures.
  • An extensive opportunity is then given at your workstation to practice on one of our specific workshop MTB's or road bikes depending on where your passion lies. Once you are confident in your abilities using our equipment you can then progress to work on your own bike and ask any questions that pertain to your specific bike setup.
  • NOTE:

    1. Hydraulic disc brake is bleeding is not covered within this course. Please refer to specific manufacturers instructions for further information
