 ANNOUNCEMENT!
Coast to Coast has always been a magic event featuring a spectacular route through the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula, finishing on the shores of Victor Harbor. The event has grown to become one of the state's most consistently popular community rides with around 2,000 participants, and it's been a regular fixture in many rider's calendar for over a decade. However in 2012 there is a change to the programme. Bike SA is always looking for opportunities to encourage more people riding, and we strive to develop and deliver exciting new events. From Sea to Vines and Amy's Ride, Gear Up Girl to Moving City, we lead the way with new community activities. So while Coast to Coast has been a great event we believe our brand new community ride in March - Boileau VeloAdelaide - will prove even more popular. We've taken into account the views of a number of riders about this fresh initiative and we believe we've come up with a very exciting formula. First, VeloAdelaide riders will enjoy the exclusive opportunity to ride up the South Eastern Freeway through the Heysen Tunnel, closed especially for this event; plus the event starts and finishes in the same city location and the distance options provide something for everyone - from 30km, 50km and 80km through the Hills, to an easy family ride around Adelaide's Parklands. We expect Boileau VeloAdelaide provides something not only for the traditional Coast to Coast riders, but also for many other people who are keen to get on a bike and enjoy the experience of riding alongside thousands of others. So while we won't be running Coast to Coast in 2012, we hope to welcome you to the inaugural Boileau VeloAdelaide on 18 March 2012.
