In this section are featured some of South Australia's best mountain bike rides and how you go about getting a slice of the action.

With mountain bikes continuing to outsell all other bikes on the market, there must be fat tyre machines in almost every shed in the state. Some probably looking worse for wear, others lovingly clean and lubed, waiting to be let loose. Every weekend sees mountain bikers migrating to the Mount Lofty Ranges, many to Cudlee Creek, Fox Creek, Kersbrook and Kuitpo Forest, others taking advantage of the dirtiest new facility in town - Eagle Mountain Bike Park.

The more mobile and adventurous travel far and wide to Mount Remarkable, Bartagunyah and Rawnsley Park. It's all good stuff. The best thing is that new tracks are being built all the time. And Bike SA is in the business of taking you there. You and hundreds of other mountain bikers.

There's the KONA DIRTY WEEKEND competition events, just ripe for trail lovers up for a laugh as well as a gut-busting challenge. South Australia's only 24-HR Solo event. Other categories include 12hr/6hr solo/duo/team of 4.

For the proportion of the MTB population who like to plan early, and hanker for an adventure of a lifetime, mark in your future diary the 2013 OUTBACK ODYSSEY. 900km on your steed, from Adelaide to the Flinders Ranges, appears good on paper. Wait until you ride it. Simply bloody awesome.
